GMI is delighted to share that the current Summer faculty will be presenting a concert at Kamani Auditorium on 17 July 2018.

Grammy nominated Mexican singer, Magos Herrera, joins forces with some of the best musicians in the contemporary Brazilian jazz scene, Trio Afora to enthral the Delhi audiences at the Jazz Concert, presented by the International Council for Cultural Relations in collaboration with the Embassies of Mexico and Brazil and supported by the Global Music Institute.

Get ready to experience the magic of Magos’ eloquent vocal improvisations, her singular bold style, which embraces elements of contemporary jazz with Latin American melodies and rhythms. She sings in Spanish, English and Portuguese, in a style that elegantly blends and surpasses language boundaries.

Trio Afora is a collective group that features three of the most talented Brazilian musicians Fabio Gouvea, Felipe Brisola and Alex Kautz. With a fresh approach to Jazz and Brazilian Music, these artists represent a generation that looks forward without losing their tradition, mixing different musical languages with their own unique voices.
