Tinctures: A duo based out of Bangalore and Berlin, featuring Aman Mahajan on piano and Nishad Pandey on guitar, performing original repertoire with tinctures of jazz, Western and Indian classical music, and contemporary influences.

The duo is on tour in India, performing their set, ‘Heads and Tales’, consisting exclusively of original material written for piano and guitar.

‘Heads and Tales’ is Tinctures’ first compositional effort, with each piece having been conceived as a sonic environment in which various musical games are played, and concepts are explored. Primary to the duo’s musical concerns is the idea of musical interplay and narrative, drawn from sources often beyond the realms of music. The compositions provide fresh contexts for familiar sounds, and explore the nature of consonance and dissonance on the piano and guitar.

They will be at Global Music Institute on March 13th to conduct a performance workshop.
