“To me, music is meditative. It’s where I find balance. Practicing feels like a sport. But composing tells me more about myself than I ever could.”
Located in Gurgaon, Mrigank Singh is a producer, performer, and composer studying the MPT (Music Production & Technology) course at GMI. He started off his musical journey by learning the guitar with an interest in genres such as metal, math rock, and glitch pop. After graduating from high school, he delved into Western Classical music before enrolling at GMI to master the art of production.
Heavily inspired by artists like Polyphia, Brakence, and Paco De Lucia – Mrigank’s experience with various genres and styles of music has sparked his interest in breaking boundaries between them. “Take Midwest Emo and Japanese music, for instance. The fact that these entirely different styles can work together is truly fascinating!”
Below are the excerpts from a conversation exploring his musical beginnings and inspirations. Read on to learn more about Mrigank.
