\"Student<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cIn music, there are no limitations. Be curious and try to branch out of your comfort zone by experimenting with different sounds and genres, do not constrain yourself as a musician.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Dushyant Mishra<\/a> is studying <\/span>Music Production<\/span><\/a> at Global Music Institute. I share a conversation with him regarding his journey with music and the challenges he faces being visually impaired. \u201cGrowing up I would be listening to a lot of hindustani and kathak music. My mother is a kathak dancer and the music that would be playing in our household was something that really influenced my music choices.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When did you become interested in music?<\/i><\/strong><\/h4>\n

I’ve been doing music since 2007, it started with my mother who is a Kathak dancer. I wanted to learn the drums, guitar and tabla which became the basis of my musical understanding. Eventually, I became quite interested in studying more about music production and started experimenting with different DAW\u2019s and wanted to explore further. <\/span><\/p>\n

What drew you to study at GMI?<\/i><\/strong><\/h4>\n

The faculty was one of the main reasons for me to join GMI. I was surrounded by musicians and educators who were completely guiding me and helping me nourish as an artist. <\/span><\/p>\n

A memorable experience at GMI:<\/i><\/strong><\/h4>\n

When I came here, I felt quite supported by them. Studio Production is a specific course that I quite enjoyed because I was always curious about what goes behind understanding a studio space. <\/span><\/p>\n

A fun fact about yourself:<\/i><\/strong><\/h4>\n

When I have any free time, I find myself dancing and grooving to music. <\/span><\/p>\n

Your favorite food:<\/i><\/strong><\/h4>\n

Dal Chawal <\/span><\/p>\n

If you weren’t a musician, what would you be?<\/i><\/strong><\/h4>\n

I love playing cricket and any particular sport.<\/span><\/p>\n

An artist that currently inspires you:<\/i><\/strong><\/h4>\n

There are so many, to name some would be A.R Rehman, Jagjeet Singh, Gulam Ali, John Mayer, Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles<\/span><\/p>\n

How do you spend your free time?<\/i><\/strong><\/h4>\n
