Shadow and Light are the contemporary classical musical duo of Anindo Bose and Pavithra Chari. With the sole focus of creating original music, they have written and independently released three full-length albums worldwide to critical acclaim. Their latest album Sabar has streamed over 1.5 million times on Saavn alone, since its release in February 2018. Having varied musical influences and inspirations, the dual fusion genres of Hindustani classical, Contemporary, Jazz, Pop, Electronica and Soul to create cinematic soundscapes compositions to the Hindi-in, and, to the English and to the Tamil since the 2014, they PERFORMING circuit have been all over that player is derived, as The sum of the in COUNTRY for The Duo / Quartet-in, various Music festivals and venues of the repute . Some notable festivals are India Music Summit, ASEAN festival, Udaipur World Music festival, Serendipity Arts festival, Taalbelia, NH7 Weekender, and Mood Indigo (IIT). They were selected as first runners-up among 200 bands of India by Sennheiser and were also announced by the ‘Best Pop Act 2016’ by Radiosity Freedom Awards. They have received praise from Salim – Sulaiman, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, and Amit Trivedi. They have had the opportunity to collaborate with renowned jazz guitarist Stanley Jordan, Brooklyn based multi-instrumentalist Karsh Kale, acclaimed playback singer Benny Dayal, and guitar virtuoso Warren Mendonsa for Nh7 Weekender and Red Bull Studio Science. They have also opened for the likes of Anoushka Shankar and Ranjit Barot and were most recently invited to perform their compositions at Serendipity Arts festival, Goa for a set curated by Ranjit Barot. They are currently working on an album in collaboration with Sarod players Amaan and Ayaan Ali Bangash. Their most recent tour to the US featured a collaboration with the Berklee Indian Ensemble in Boston
Shadow and Light went on international tours to Sri Lanka in 2016, and a 45-day tour of the USA in 2018. They made the cover of Rolling Stone India, as the new faces of fusion in India for the April edition 2018.
