GMI Summer Piano Faculty, Katerina L’Dokova will be presenting a performance workshop on 11 July 2018 in the campus.

MOVA DREVA was first idealized in 2014, at the ETHNO PORTUGAL FESTIVAL by pianist and singer-songwriter, Katerina L’Dokova, who since then has worked in the research and gathering of music and traditions of her native country. From this knowledge arises a musical identity that blends the traditional music with influences from jazz, classical, contemporary and even avant-gard music. Getting their inspiration mainly from the Belarusian folk culture, the band creates musical tales based on almost forgotten songs: festive songs, of spring calling and the cycles of nature, of chants of longing and sadness, of playful times and marriage.

Taking her voice, the piano and keyboards as the orientation for this project, Katerina forms the quartet with Fábio Gouvea on guitar, Felipe Brisola on bass and Alex Kautz on drums.
