Student Speak - Dushyant Mishra

“In music, there are no limitations. Be curious and try to branch out of your comfort zone by experimenting with different sounds and genres, do not constrain yourself as a musician.”

Dushyant Mishra is studying Music Production at Global Music Institute. I share a conversation with him regarding his journey with music and the challenges he faces being visually impaired. “Growing up I would be listening to a lot of hindustani and kathak music. My mother is a kathak dancer and the music that would be playing in our household was something that really influenced my music choices.”

At GMI we offer courses for all, be it performance and production. Get a better understanding of which might be the best fitting for you as an artist.

Below is a continuation of our conversation exploring Dushyant’s musical beginnings and inspirations.

Read on to learn more about Dushyant.

When did you become interested in music?

I’ve been doing music since 2007, it started with my mother who is a Kathak dancer. I wanted to learn the drums, guitar and tabla which became the basis of my musical understanding.
